Advisory Committee
Tricia Lawrence
Tricia has worked as a Librarian/Records Manager for over ten years as you can see from her statement below, she has made a commitment to uplift others. The Foundation is pleased to have her on our Advisory Board.
Community Development is of significance importance to me as it is at the ground level fruits for enrichment can be borne. The nurturing of the root, once effective, can become the catalyst needed to generate successful outcomes. Crime and violence are said to be factors of poor education, absence of good family values, poverty and a reel of other social issues. With social inclusion like that of the Allen-Shaw foundation, such issues facing our society can be dealt with to bridge the gap between the divides.
It is through such community involvement why many of our nation’s problems have not been surmounted. These societies help to heal many wounds and create a renewed view on life. It expresses unity and love, two major components needed to move any mountain. It is therefore critical that at the community level we regain all efforts to create the change required to minimize and better yet eliminate any effort aimed at working in opposition to community development and ultimately nation building.
It is always said that the child that the community raises has less trouble fitting in the outside world. It is therefore needless to say that the community is a microcosm of the larger picture and the aim is not to be in isolation and therefore development at the community level means development of a nation, which leads to regional and international development.
